About

Accessibility is becoming progressively more important for managers, directors, and content teams. I help people navigate the common headaches involved with retrofitting older designs and developing new ones for compliance.

My 25-plus years of experience includes roles as writer, editor, designer, and content developer. My approach to design and layout is based on knowledge and theory developed during my graduate studies in technical communications. For the past few years, minding accessibility requirements has become a major focus in my work.

My specialties include

  • editorial production
  • data visualization
  • publication design
  • accessibility remediation
  • workflow development

While that may seem like an eclectic combination, it actually creates a rather holistic approach for documentation and development.

I am currently a technology and workflow consultant for Culture Masters and an editorial board member for #HeritageAlive. Other organizations I have worked with include:

  • UNESCO-ICHCAP
  • Cultural Heritage Administration of Korea
  • Mississippi State University
  • Kyobo Book Centre
  • Pearson Longman

My accessibility-first approach to design, content development, and production workflows reduces the need for remediation later.

Everything published here is edited and fact-checked. The content represents my own analysis and judgment.
